2012-2013 Lawyering Skills Teaching Assistants
Margaret Eyre - Margaret is a third-year law student, and this is her second year as a teaching assistant for the Lawyering Skills Program. She grew up in several remote Alaskan villages and the rural community of Caledonia, MN. Margaret received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science, with a minor in Communications, from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2009. Prior to law school, she spent nine months teaching English in China. Margaret clerked for the Northeast Central Judicial District Court last spring and was employed by the Tribal Judicial Institute this past summer. She is the Technical and Copy Editor of the North Dakota Law Review.
Amanda Brossart - Amanda is originally from Fargo, North Dakota, and graduated from Fargo South High School in 2007. Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and Theater from South Dakota State University in 2009, and is currently a third year law student. This past summer, Amanda worked as a law clerk for the Robert Vogel Law Office and for the Grand Forks Public Defenders Office. She is also the Outside Articles Editor of the North Dakota Law Review, a participant in internal moot court, Carrigan Cup participant, Trial Advocacy TA, and member of the 2011 Trial Team. In her free time, Amanda enjoys scooter riding, reading, and traveling.
Beth Alvine - Beth is a second-year law student and is originally from Watertown, SD. Beth graduated from Watertown High School in 2005, and she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in Political Science from the University of North Dakota in 2009. During the summer of 2012, she was an extern for the Honorable Judge Kermit E. Bye at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in Fargo, ND and a Summer Research Assistant to Professor Kirsten Dauphinais. In addition to being a Lawyering Skills TA, Beth is also a member of the North Dakota Law Review, Treasurer for the Law Women's Caucus, and a Student Leader for UND School of Law Orientation. In her free time, Beth enjoys reading, traveling, cheering on UND Athletics, and spending time with her husband, Travis, and her family.
Meagen Essen - Meagen is a second-year law student. She is originally from Fargo, ND and graduated from Fargo South High School. Meagen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with minors in Political Science and Spanish from North Dakota State University. Prior to law school, she spent a year serving as a literacy aide in a West Fargo elementary school for the AmeriCorps program. This past summer, Meagen was an extern for the Honorable Judge Kermit Bye at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is also a member of law review. In her free time, Meagen enjoys spending time with friends, reading, traveling, and going to UND hockey games.
