John C. Doyle, Class of 1979
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of John Colin Doyle, 61, of Scottsdale, Arizona. John passed away in Pebble Beach, CA on Oct. 6, 2011. He was born to Thelma and John A. Doyle on September 10, 1950. He was raised in Canada and moved to the United States in 1968. John attended the University of Oklahoma, obtaining his undergraduate degree in 1973, and went on to complete law school at the University of North Dakota in 1979. He was a successful litigation attorney who practiced in the Scottsdale area for over 25 years. John is preceded in death by his father, John A. Doyle, his sister, Jacqueline Doyle, and his brother, Joseph Doyle. He is survived by his three children, John Gregory Doyle (Giannine), Corey Andrew Doyle (Adriana), and Courtney Jessica Doyle, his five grandchildren, Christian, Alexander, Jackson, Kathryn, and Sophia, his mother Thelma Doyle, his brothers Jim Doyle and Jay Doyle, his sister Joanne Rogers, and his fiancée, Joan Gould. John enjoyed spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren) and friends, golfing, fly-fishing, cooking, traveling, and wine collecting. He touched the lives of many with his infectious smile and fierce advocacy for his clients. He will be remembered most for his generosity, adventurous spirit and trademark sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by many.
