In Memorium - Rhonda Jordheim Macdonald, '85
Rhonda Jordheim Macdonald died March 16, 2015, in Vienna, Va., surrounded by family.
Rhonda was born August 30, 1957, to Orland and Bette (Bolme) Jordheim of Walcott, ND. She attended grade school in Walcott and graduated from Kindred High School in 1975. She was the organist at the Walcott Lutheran Church starting in eighth grade, and continuing into her college years.
She graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., then worked as a CPA. She went on to earn her law degree at the University of North Dakota School of Law.
On November 28, 1986, she married Jeffrey Macdonald. They have resided in Northern Virginia since that time. She founded her own Trusts and Estates law firm and remained active there until the time of her death.
She was a lifelong accomplished musician on piano and organ. Rhonda loved entertaining guests, spending down time at their home on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland, traveling in Europe, including several trips to relatives in Norway, and regular trips back to North Dakota. She was generous with her time and resources helping people, especially women and young people.
She was preceded in death by her father, Orland Jordheim, in 1992 and by her grandparents Gilbert and Grace Bolme, and Ole and Olga Jordheim; aunts Gail King and Elaine Beadles; and cousins Steven King and Matt Bolme.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Jeff, her children Kelly, Ryan and Danny; her sisters Joni (Mick) Burns of Reston, Virginia, and Sally (Joe) Dunn of LaGrange, Kentucky; a brother Dan (Vicki) Jordheim of West Richland, Wash. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service was held March 21, 2015, in Vienna, VA. A gathering will be held in Rhonda's memory on Sunday August 9 at 11:30 a.m., following morning worship at Walcott Lutheran Church.
