FOR bringing NHL hockey back to Manitoba, Mark Chipman will receive the province's highest honour.
Lt.-Gov. Philip Lee announced Friday Chipman, along with 13 others, will be inducted into the Order of Manitoba during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Year and 200th anniversary of the arrival of the Selkirk Settlers.

Lee, the chancellor of the order, said in a statement normally 12 would be able to receive the honour, but special legislation allows for an increase to 14 "in recognition of a particularly noteworthy year.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to invest 14 deserving Manitobans into the order this July, in a year made all the more special by the significant accomplishments and contributions of the men and women selected for membership in the Order of Manitoba."
