Public Invited to School of Law Addition and Renovation Ceremony - October 10, 2014
A ceremony to celebrate the construction project at the UND School of Law - a groundbreaking type ceremony - will be held Friday October 10, 2014 at 12:15 p.m. to recognize the construction project and the support it received from the Governor, 2013 Legislature and individual donors to UND Law.
Featured speakers will include Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley, UND President Robert Kelley, Chief Justice of the North Dakota Supreme Court Gerald VandeWalle, North Dakota State Sen. Ray Holmberg, Kevin Melcher, representing the State Board of Higher Education, and UND School of Law Dean Kathryn Rand.
Immediately following the program, the speakers will participate in a special ceremonial "brick-laying" session to recognize and celebrate the ongoing project. A reception will be held in the Chester Fritz Library Main Reading Room following the ceremony.
The ceremony will take place on the front lawn of the Chester Fritz Library, at the corner of Centennial Drive and University Avenue. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved into the Chester Fritz Library main reading room.
In May 2013, North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple and the North Dakota State Legislature made a commitment to the legal future of North Dakota by supporting an appropriation of $11.4 million for a building addition and renovation of the UND School of Law. The building project is under way and progressing quickly as we work toward a fall 2015 opening. All are welcome to attend the ceremony and to celebrate this historic project which will contribute to continued excellence in legal education for decades to come at North Dakota's law school.
