Steven R. Morrison Works on Mehanna Defense Team
Professor Steven R. Morrison just completed work on the criminal defense team representing Tarek Mehanna, a man who was accused in federal court of providing material support to the terrorist organization al Qaeda. This was a complex trial, involving First Amendment free speech issues as well as complex criminal conspiracy law issues.
Professor Morrison was on a team of attorneys who had been representing Mehanna since 2008. The trial recently concluded, and Professor Morrison continues to work and write in the areas of the First Amendment, conspiracy law, and post-9/11 terrorism-related cases.
The case is United States v. Mehanna (D.Mass. 2011).
