Steven R. Morrison and Marcy Faircloth to Argue Before Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals
Assistant Professor Steven R. Morrison and UND School of Law student Marcy Faircloth represent an indigent petitioner before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Professor Morrison and Ms. Faircloth's client is seeking a writ of habeas corpus, a vacation of his conviction, and release from custody based on a violation of his due process rights. Oral argument has been set for June 2012. The case is Meador v. Branson, No. 11-3088.
This court appointed representation is part of Professor Morrison's ongoing project to represent clients who cannot afford private attorneys and provide an opportunity to UND Law students to obtain real-world experience as part of their legal education."
