Professor William P. Johnson Presents at International Law Conference
Professor
William P. Johnson
organized and then spoke at a program entitled "Choice of Law That Matters: Making a Smart Choice Regarding Application or Exclusion of the CISG for International Sale of Goods Transactions" at the 2012 Spring Meeting of the American Bar Association Section of International Law in New York, New York in April. Professor Johnson's co-organizer was Anders Forkman, a partner with the Swedish business law firm of Advokatfirman Vinge KB. The program addressed the importance of choosing carefully the body of law that is to govern international commercial contracts. Using a case study method, the program brought together distinguished in-house counsel, law firm practitioners and academics from the United States, Switzerland and Sweden to offer opposing viewpoints on choice of law under specific circumstances.
