Visiting Assistant Professor of Law
Jeffrey Gold is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law in the UND School of Law Clinical Legal Education Program.
Before coming to UND School of Law, Professor Gold most recently served in 2011-2012 as a Senior Legal Education Advisor in Egypt and Tunisia to the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative. In both countries, Professor Gold organized and taught skills-based courses for young Egyptians and Tunisians who were recent law graduates and new lawyers.
His previous law school teaching work includes creating and supervising two clinical programs at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. From 2005 to 2011, Professor Gold served as an adjunct clinical professor in the school's eviction defense program which provided last-minute at-court assistance to tenants facing eviction. He also supervised the school's Elder Law Clinic which ran from 2007 to 2009.
Professor Gold worked as a staff attorney at Indiana Legal Services (2003 to 2011) where he represented low-income clients in a variety of civil matters including IRS tax controversy, bankruptcy, eviction defense, family, and collection defense. From 2003 to 2005, he was an Equal Justice Works Fellow focusing on low-income rural housing issues.
Professor Gold received his Juris Doctor in 2003 from the DePaul University College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. He worked for many years in the nonprofit sector doing program and education for a variety of issues.
