American Constitution Society Officers 2016-17
President – Kelly Johnson
Kelly is from St. Michael, Minnesota. Before coming to the UND School of Law, Kelly graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with degrees in Journalism and Political Science. She is currently in her third year of law school and hopes to go into public interest law upon graduation. Her dream is to be a legislative lawyer, working on drafting legislation or advocating for legislative reform to advance civil and human rights. Kelly joined ACS because she loves the progressive discussions and ideas ACS facilitates and because of the incredible networking opportunities!
Vice President – Meggi Ihland
Meggi is from Kent, Minnesota. Before coming to the UND School of Law, Meggi graduated from the University of North Dakota with degrees in Political Science, Criminal Justice, and Sociology. She is currently in her third year of law school, and is interested in torts and criminal law. After graduation, Meggi is interested in practicing law on the federal level, preferably on the defense side. Meggi joined ACS as a 1L because she enjoyed taking Constitutional Law I with Professor Ernst.
Secretary – Lexie Hoemberg
Lexie is from Wadena, Minnesota. She is currently in her third year of law school at the University of North Dakota. Prior to law school, she attended the University of North Dakota, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Studies and a minor in Psychology. Upon graduating law school, Lexie hopes to secure a career in western North Dakota in the area(s) of criminal law and/or family law. Lexie joined ACS because of its open and casual atmosphere and the vast array of discussion and event topics.
Treasurer – Sarah Aaberg
Sarah is from Starbuck, Minnesota. Before coming to the UND School of Law, Sarah graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She is currently in her third year of law school and is interested in working in private practice after graduation.
