Law Student Anna Argenti Attends ABA Forum on Air & Space Law
Third-year UND Law student Anna Argenti is passionate about aviation law. She has been pursing this career path during her journey through law school. Argenti recently attended the ABA Forum on Air and Space Law in Washington, DC in February as a scholarship recipient.
“The forum schedule was very intense and consisted of five panels: legislative, litigation, space law, regulations, and aviation and climate change--from policy to law. I have learned an incredible amount of information and met an incredible amount of people,” said Argenti.
In addition to the vast amount of knowledge she gained, Argenti has developed a network of contacts in the aviation and space industry including private lawyers, practicing aviation law nationwide and internationally; in-house counsel for Delta, American, and SouthWest Airlines; the Assistant Director for Aviation Litigation of U.S. Department of Justice; General Counsel of the National Transportation Safety Board; the Senior Attorney of Environmental Defense Fund; the Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs of UPS Airlines, and the Regional Supervising Attorney for Federal Aviation Administration.
Argenti encourages fellow law students to seek out other ABA committees that many be of interest to them. Many ABA committees offer similar scholarship opportunities for students to attend conferences and forums.
Argenti will graduate in May 2016 with her J.D. and the U.S. Air Transportation Policy Certificate. The UND School of Law currently issues two certificate programs for graduates, the U.S. Air Transportation Policy Certificate and Indian Law Certificate.
