On Campus Access
Students, faculty, and staff should sign in to the UND-Secured Wi-Fi network. Law Library resources should be linked to through the library catalog or our Law Library Databases.
Westlaw Public Access
Thormodsgard Law Library dedicates one computer station to providing a Westlaw subscription for public access.
Off Campus Access
Law Library resources should be linked to through the library catalog or our Law Library Databases, at which time students, faculty, and staff will be prompted to log in with their UND/NDUS account. If you are an online student or remote faculty member, and have questions about resources or services at the Law Library, please contact Jonathan Voigt or Katie Lynn. If you have forgotten your Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, or CALI login information, contact Jane Oakland.
Troubleshooting Tips
Running into problems when you are trying to research can be frustrating. Here are a few tips that may help you solve the problem quickly.
- First, make sure you are following the on and off campus access instructions above. This ensures that you are taken through our authentication process, which is required to access subscribed resources.
- Clear your cache and cookies, as your browser may still have old information from your previous sessions confusing the login process. Restart your browser after clearing the cache and cookies to refresh your sessions.
- Try to access the resource in a different browser (e.g., if you are in Chrome, try Firefox) and/or in a private or incognito browser window.
- If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact us with a step-by-step list of the process that you used that ended with the error. Please also include a screen shot and/or the exact error message(s), that you are seeing when you attempt to access the resource.
