Prospective Members
The North Dakota Law Review encourages all incoming second and third year students to participate in law review. Membership in the North Dakota Law Review is open to all second and third year students. Membership is determined by a write-on competition intended to measure students' legal reasoning, writing, and citation skills. Write-on materials are distributed following spring semester final exams. After candidates have submitted their write-on exercises, the law review board of editors will evaluate and extend offers of membership.
A member of law review can expect a challenging and rewarding experience. New members are relied on to play a critical role in the publishing of the law review. Additionally, members will be required to complete a significant writing project in each of the fall and spring semesters. Second year members that successfully fulfill their obligations are eligible for positions on the board of editors.
