Learning about Law School Virtual Series

Join the UND School of Law faculty, staff, student and alumni for a special three-part virtual series to "Learn about Law School."  You can sign up for individual sessions or all three. 

Session 1 - Law School Basics

When: Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Panelists:
Aleisha Lokken, Director of Admission
Grant Christensen, Associate Professor
Calen King, UND Law student

A representative from admissions, faculty and prior law school applicant (now student) will share details have how to prepare for the application process and the start of law school. The application process will be broken down into parts to explain best practices for submitting a strong application file. The objective of the session is for attendees to have an understanding of steps necessary to apply to law school, how to enrich application materials for admissions, and resources available to them throughout the process.

Session II - Life as a UND Law Student

When: Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Panelists: Current UND Law students - Logan Benson, Bennett Lystad, Morgan Tuss, Katie Winbauer, and Marisa Gunhouse

Ever wonder what law school is like once you get admitted? Here is an opportunity to ask current law students what a typical day is like at UND School of Law. Find answers to those common questions of: “What are law school classes really like?”; “How do you manage a social life and studying?”; “I don’t know who to ask for help, what do I do?”; “What’s the Socratic Method?” Attendees are encouraged to submit questions they want answered in advance via email to Aleisha Lokken at aleisha.d.lokken@und.edu.

Session III - Why I love the law

When: Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Panelists: UND School of Law alumni Rujeko Muza, Joel Engel, Trent Barkus, Quinn Hochhalter, and Jade Rosenfeldt

Deciding to attend law school is just the beginning! Find out from UND School of Law alumni why they love the law, how they established their current position in the field, their experiences at UND, and suggestions to those beginning their journey into law. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions they want answered in advance via email to Aleisha Lokken at aleisha.d.lokken@und.edu
