Class of 2023 - Week 16 email
Attachments:
Hello Class of 2023,
This email is short (okay, it’s not as short as I wanted it to be) and sweet to make for an easy mid-July email (can it really be July 15th already?!?!?!). It is all about parking permits. They should be on sale as of today – at least that’s what the website is telling me – but when I tried to access it to ensure that it was open, I got a date of July 21st. 🥴 So, if it doesn’t work for you today, hopefully it will be available by July 21st!
Some common questions I have gotten about parking below, but feel free to ask any
other question if not addressed here:
1 - What type of parking pass should I get?
a - There are different types of parking permits – Campus Housing Permits for
those who reside in a campus residence hall, On-Campus Housing Apartment Permits for
those who reside in a campus apartment, Student Parking Permits, and Ramp Parking
Permit
b - If you are an “off-campus” student – meaning you do not live on the UND campus,
you may choose a Student Parking or Ramp Parking option.
c - Between the Student parking and the Ramp parking, it’s truly up to preference.
The Ramp parking is covered and they only sell a set number of permits for this to
ensure everyone can park in the ramp. The Student lots are often a Student/Staff combination
and parking is first-come, first-serve. I do not believe student parking permits sell
out.
2 - Where are the closest student “S” parking lots and the ramp to the law school?
a - Check out the map I’ve included in this email. Or there is a link for a full
campus map below.
i. - The School of Law is in a red box.
ii. - The parking ramp is in a purple circle.
iii. - The student parking lots near the law school are indicated with blue
stars/yellow center.
3 - Will I need a parking permit?
a - This may depend. Some rental properties offer transportation to and from campus
at various times throughout the day/week. Also, the city transportation may be a better
option for you. The important thing is to pick what works best for you.
4 - Not a question but something to note – There is also Passport Parking as an option for vehicles without a UND parking permit. These are metered spaces you can park in and pay for time as needed. More information on Passport Parking is here - https://campus.und.edu/transportation/parking/permits/
To view options and prices, use the link below. Towards the bottom of the page, it gives instructions in how to purchase. A key thing to remember is you will need your NDUS.Identifier login information to purchase a permit. Also, you will need vehicle information to enter for your permit – make, model and license plate number of your vehicle(s).

Here is a full campus map with a key for parking permits – https://campus.und.edu/transportation/parking/_files/docs/fy21-parking-main.pdf - I have attached another map which shows all parking close to the law school.
Have a great day!!
Take care,
Aleisha
